What to check at each stage of a house build
If you are building in DHA Lahore, these are the checks that matter most at the stages shown on this page. They apply to any site, ours or another contractor’s.
Foundation and brickwork
- Levels and layout. Confirm the layout matches the approved drawing before any concrete is poured.
- Damp-proof course. It should be in place at plinth level before walls go up.
- Brick quality. Bricks should be well burnt, uniform in size and wetted before laying.
- Joints. Mortar joints should be filled and staggered, not hollow.
Plumbing and drainage rough-in
- Pipe material and size. Compare what is installed with the BOQ.
- Pressure test. Water lines should be tested before they are covered by plaster.
- Drainage slope. Drains need a continuous fall toward the outlet, with inspection chambers at turns.
- Photograph before closing. Take dated photos of every pipe run before walls are plastered, because you will not see them again.
