1 Kanal House in DHA Phase 7, Lahore: Foundations to Lintel (April to August 2026)

18 April 2026: foundations
The house started with the foundation layout marked from the structural drawings, then footings and foundation brick walls built up from them. These photos were taken on 18 April 2026, with the neighbouring tan building and hedge that appear in every later photo of this plot.
Plinth walls before filling
Between April and June the plinth walls were raised on the foundations and the space inside them was prepared for filling, ready for the compaction shown in the next section.
21 June 2026: plinth compaction and damp-proof course
Before the walls go up, the plinth is filled in layers and compacted with a plate compactor, and the damp-proof course (DPC) is laid on the plinth walls to stop rising damp. Weak compaction at this stage is a common cause of floor cracks later.
4 to 16 July 2026: brick walls rise above the plinth
Room walls are built in brick masonry on top of the DPC. Excavated soil is kept on site for backfilling around the plinth, and scaffolding goes up as the walls get higher.
24 July 2026: room walls at mid-height
Door and window openings are left at the positions on the approved drawings, and the walls are checked for line and plumb as they rise.
21 to 27 August 2026: lintel level
At lintel level, beams are cast over the openings so the brickwork above them is carried without cracking. After the lintels, the walls continue to roof level and the roof slab is cast.
